COVID-19: STAY HOME | STAY SAFE
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the world to observe Lock-down with people to stay indoors either voluntary or through government order. COVID-19 is a disease that is caused due to corona virus. The experts are claiming it as the worst challenging times since World War 2. The pandemic’s front line warrior’s health care workers and the police personnel are working day and night for the containment of the virus.
Many experts believe that this is warning by nature to Humans. Human activities since years have heavily impacted the biodiversity and overall ecological cycle. Breathable air quality deteriorating due to pollution, deforestation leading to destruction of natural habitats of wildlife species hence, close contact of humans with wildlife species.
According to UN environment program around 60 percent of all infectious diseases in humans are Zoonotic, means they come to humans via animals. These zoonotic diseases like Ebola, SARS, MERS, etc., are all due to human activities. There are wet markets operating in many parts of the world. According to one report by The Guardian, animals are caged and transported across large distances. They are stressed and immunosuppressed and excreting whatever pathogens they have in them, with people in market come in contact with these fluids favoring a mixing bowl for such disease.
This is the time for the humans to sit back and think the reflection of its own action. It is the time to think responsibly and act responsibly. Our actions today will determine the future of the world. Lessons are to be learnt and acted upon. Self realization that we share this planet with other species and that they are equally important in maintaining planets ecosystem. Meddling with nature will lead nowhere rather than destruction, our superiority complex to be kept in check.
The nations around the world are taking
all possible measures for containment of this pandemic and that the normalcy
can be restored soon. The Indian government is no exception, it is working hard
and taking all possible measure to fight the pandemic. India with second
largest population in the world has till managed to deal with the pandemic. The
country has 28,046 active cases as on 3 May according to Ministryof Home Affairs, with first case of virus on 30 January. In the
doubling and mortality rate India has performed better and is much slower than
several other countries like USA, UK, Italy, Spain.
The honorable prime minsters call to netizens of clapping or bang
vessels, lightning diyas/candles for lauding corona virus warriors had
received huge support. No wonder with the support of the netizens,
